329.130. 1. The board shall grant without examination a license topractice cosmetology to any applicant who holds a current license that isissued by another state, territory of the United States, or the District ofColumbia whose requirements for licensure are substantially equal to thelicensing requirements in Missouri at the time the application is filed orwho has practiced cosmetology for at least two consecutive years in anotherstate, territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Theapplicant under this subsection shall pay the appropriate application andlicensure fees at the time of making application. A licensee who iscurrently under disciplinary action with another board of cosmetology shallnot be licensed by reciprocity under the provisions of this chapter.
2. Any person who lawfully practiced or received training in anotherstate who does not qualify for licensure without examination may apply tothe board for licensure by examination. Upon application to the board, theboard shall evaluate the applicant's experience and training to determinethe extent to which the applicant's training and experience satisfiescurrent Missouri licensing requirements and shall notify the applicantregarding his or her deficiencies and inform the applicant of the actionthat he or she must take to qualify to take the examination. The applicantfor licensure under this subsection shall pay the appropriate examinationand licensure fees.
