334.045. 1. Notwithstanding any other provisions of law, the boardmay grant a temporary license to any graduate of a reputable medicalcollege or osteopathic college to practice as a physician and surgeon inhospitals approved by the board, who meets such other requirements as theboard may prescribe by rule and regulation.

2. The temporary license provided for in subsection 1 of this sectionshall limit the right of the licensee to practice only in hospitalsapproved by the board, under the supervision of the superintendent or chiefof staff of such institution, and shall be renewable in the discretion andwith the approval of the board; provided, however, that no fees forservices rendered shall be charged by the temporary licensee nor by thehospital where he is employed for services performed by such temporarylicensee. A temporary license fee shall accompany the original applicationfor temporary license and a similar amount shall be paid in the event thetemporary license is renewed.

3. Prior to receiving all the necessary documents as required insection 334.031, the board may grant a conditional temporary license to anymedical or osteopathic school graduate who is a first-time candidate inthis state for temporary licensure. The conditional temporary licenseshall only be issued upon the board's receipt of such documentaryassurances as are reasonably available from the medical or osteopathicinstitution to demonstrate that the candidate will fulfill the actualrequirements of section 334.031, and in situations where a first-timecandidate for licensure would otherwise be unable to receive a temporarylicense in time to begin his or her training program. The conditionaltemporary license shall limit the licensee to practice in the same manneras a temporary licensee and shall automatically expire either one hundredtwenty days from the date of issuance or upon the issuance of a temporarylicense and shall not be renewed.
