335.355. Applicability of compact. - Missouri Statutes

Applicability of compact.

335.355. 1. The term "head of the nurse licensing board" as referredto in article VIII of this compact shall mean the executive director of theMissouri state board of nursing.

2. A person who is extended the privilege to practice in this statepursuant to the nurse licensure compact is subject to discipline by theboard, as set forth in this chapter, for violation of this chapter or therules and regulations promulgated herein. A person extended the privilegeto practice in this state pursuant to the nurse licensure compact shall besubject to adhere to all requirements of this chapter, as if such personwere originally licensed in this state.

3. Sections 335.300 to 335.355 are applicable only to nurses whosehome states are determined by the Missouri state board of nursing to havelicensure requirements that are substantially equivalent or more stringentthan those of Missouri.

4. This compact is designed to facilitate the regulation of nurses,and does not relieve employers from complying with statutorily imposedobligations.

5. This compact does not supercede existing state labor laws.
