Rules of construction.

358.040. 1. The rule that statutes in derogation of thecommon law are to be strictly construed shall have no applicationto this law.

2. The law of estoppel shall apply under this law.

3. The law of agency shall apply under this law.

4. This law shall be so interpreted and construed as toeffect its general purpose to make uniform the law of thosestates which enact it.

5. This law shall not be construed so as to impair theobligations of any contract existing when the law goes intoeffect, nor to affect any action or proceedings begun or rightaccrued before this law takes effect.
