376.773. Definitions.
376.773. 1. The word "insurer" as used in sections 376.770 to 376.800shall mean any insurance company issuing or writing any policy of accident andsickness insurance which is subject to the provisions of sections 376.770 to376.800.
2. The term "policy of accident and sickness insurance" as used insections 376.770 to 376.800 includes any policy or contract of insuranceagainst loss resulting from sickness or from bodily injury or death byaccident, or both, issued or written by any insurance company authorized underthe laws of the state of Missouri to transact such insurance in this state orissued by any insurance company to a resident of the state of Missouri.
3. The term "director of insurance" as used in sections 376.770 to376.800 shall mean the director of the department of insurance, financialinstitutions and professional registration.
