Effective date--study conducted by director, contents, report togeneral assembly--exclusions--expiration date.

376.836. 1. The provisions of sections 376.825 to 376.836 apply toapplications for coverage made on or after January 1, 2005, and to healthinsurance policies issued or renewed on or after such date to residents ofthis state. Multiyear group policies need not comply until the expiration oftheir current multiyear term unless the policyholder elects to comply beforethat time.

2. This section shall not apply to a supplemental insurance policy,including a life care contract, accident-only policy, specified diseasepolicy, hospital policy providing a fixed daily benefit only, Medicaresupplement policy, long-term care policy, hospitalization-surgical carepolicy, short-term major medical policy of six months or less duration, or anyother supplemental policy as determined by the director of the department ofinsurance, financial institutions and professional registration.

3. The provisions of sections 376.825 to 376.836 shall expire on January1, 2011.
