Society may operate nonprofit organizations--may not own funeral home.

378.612. 1. A society may create, maintain and operate, or mayestablish organizations to operate not-for-profit institutions to further thepurposes permitted by subdivision (1) of subsection 1 of section 378.605.Such institutions may furnish services free or at a reasonable charge. Anyreal or personal property owned, held, or leased by the society for thispurpose shall be reported in every annual statement.

2. No society shall own or operate funeral homes or undertakingestablishments.
