Records destroyed, when.

386.145. The chairman of the public service commission, inthe presence of the speaker of the house of representatives orsome member of the house of representatives designated in writingby said speaker and the president pro tem of the senate or somemember of the senate designated in writing by said president protem, may destroy by burning, or otherwise dispose of as orderedby the public service commission, such records, financialstatements and such public documents which shall at the time ofdestruction or disposal have been on file in the office of thepublic service commission for a period of five years or longerand which are determined by the public service commission to beobsolete or of no further public use or value, except suchrecords and documents as may at the time be the subject oflitigation or dispute.
