386.490. 1. Every order of the commission shall be servedupon every person or corporation to be affected thereby, eitherby personal delivery of a certified copy thereof, or by mailing acertified copy thereof, in a sealed package with postage prepaid,to the person to be affected thereby, or, in the case of acorporation, to any officer or agent thereof upon whom a summonsmay be served in accordance with the provisions of the code ofcivil procedure.
2. It shall be the duty of every person and corporation tonotify the commission forthwith, in writing, of the receipt ofthe certified copy of every order so served, and in the case of acorporation such notification must be signed and acknowledged bya person or officer duly authorized by the corporation to admitsuch service. Within a time specified in the order of thecommission every person and corporation upon whom it is servedmust if so required in the order notify the commission in likemanner whether the terms of the order are accepted and will beobeyed.
3. Every order or decision of the commission shall of itsown force take effect and become operative thirty days after theservice thereof, except as otherwise provided, and shall continuein force either for a period which may be designated therein oruntil changed or abrogated by the commission, unless such orderbe unauthorized by this law or any other law or be in violationof a provision of the constitution of the state or of the UnitedStates.
