Certificate of registration required--temporary license, criteria.

436.224. 1. Except as otherwise provided in subsection 2 of thissection, an individual may not act as an athlete agent in this state beforebeing issued a certificate of registration under section 436.230 or436.236.

2. An individual with a temporary license under section 436.236 mayact as an athlete agent before being issued a certificate of registrationfor all purposes except signing an agency contract if:

(1) A student athlete or another acting on behalf of the studentathlete initiates communication with the individual; and

(2) Within seven days after an initial act as an athlete agent, theindividual submits an application to register as an athlete agent in thisstate.

3. An agency contract resulting from conduct in violation of thissection is void. The athlete agent shall return any consideration receivedunder the contract.
