Identity of persons making acknowledgments, how ascertained.

442.200. No acknowledgment of any instrument in writingconveying real estate, or whereby any real estate may beaffected, shall be taken, unless the persons offering to makesuch acknowledgment shall be personally known to at least onejudge of the court, or to the officer taking the same, to be theperson whose name is subscribed to such instrument as a partythereto, or shall be proved to be such by at least two crediblewitnesses.
