What subscribing witness shall prove before certificate shall begranted.

442.280. No certificate of such proof shall be granted,unless such subscribing witness shall prove that the person whosename is subscribed thereto as a party is the person who executedthe same; that such person executed the instrument, and that suchwitness subscribed his name as a witness thereof.
