Historical review of items by state historical society, when--fee, howdetermined.

447.559. All abandoned tangible personal property delivered to thetreasurer pursuant to subdivision (4) of section 447.505 that has possiblehistorical significance shall be reviewed as follows:

(1) The treasurer at the treasurer's discretion shall screen suchproperty to determine if the property indicates a need for further review;

(2) In the event it is determined that such property needs furtherreview, the treasurer shall make available such property to the statehistorical society of Missouri for historical review. The state historicalsociety shall issue to the treasurer its report and recommend to thetreasurer the appropriate state department or agency to act as custodian ofany property deemed to be of such historical significance as to beretained;

(3) The state historical society shall receive a reasonable fee forits services. If the treasurer and the state historical society cannotagree on the amount of the fee, the commissioner of administration shalldetermine the fee. The fee shall be paid out of appropriations made fromthe abandoned fund account.
