Nonregistering party's contest of a support order, procedure, effect.

454.961. (a) A nonregistering party seeking to contest the validityor enforcement of a registered order in this state shall request a hearingwithin twenty days after the date of mailing or personal service of noticeof the registration. The nonregistering party may seek to vacate theregistration, to assert any defense to an allegation of noncompliance withthe registered order, or to contest the remedies being sought or the amountof any alleged arrearages pursuant to section 454.963.

(b) If the nonregistering party fails to contest the validity orenforcement of the registered order in a timely manner, the order isconfirmed by operation of law.

(c) If a nonregistering party requests a hearing to contest thevalidity or enforcement of the registered order, the registering tribunalshall schedule the matter for hearing and give notice to the parties of thedate, time, and place of the hearing.
