Commission for the deaf and hard of hearing, list ofqualified interpreters--compliance directives.

476.763. 1. Whenever a designated responsible authority is requiredto provide auxiliary aids and services, the authority shall request fromthe Missouri commission for the deaf and hard of hearing a current list ofqualified interpreters or other auxiliary aids and services. If the choiceof a qualified interpreter or other auxiliary aids and services does notmeet the needs of, or adequately accommodate, the deaf person, thedesignated responsible authority may appoint another qualified interpreteror auxiliary aids and services.

2. The Missouri commission for the deaf and hard of hearing shall, incooperation with the Missouri Assistive Technology Advisory Council, whenappropriate, issue compliance directives for designated responsibleauthorities regarding the standards which should be followed, along withthe resources available to comply with sections 476.750 to 476.766.
