Election of circuit judges.

478.010. 1. Except as provided in section 25 of article Vof the Constitution of Missouri, the circuit judges of thevarious judicial circuits shall be elected at the generalelections as herein provided and at the general election everysix years thereafter, and shall enter upon the duties of theiroffice on the first day in January next following their election;provided, however, that any terms commencing in 1981 and 1983shall commence on the first Monday in January.

2. The circuit judge of judicial circuit number one shall beelected in 1980.

3. The circuit judge of judicial circuit number thirty-sixshall be elected in 1984.

4. The circuit judges of the remaining judicial circuits,except those covered by sections 478.370 through 478.715, shallbe elected in 1982.
