Witness attached, may be discharged on bail.

491.170. When a writ of attachment, authorized by section491.160, shall be executed, the sheriff or other officer shalldischarge such witness, on his entering into a recognizance tothe state of Missouri, with sufficient security, in the sum ofone hundred dollars, which the officer executing the writ isauthorized to take, conditioned for the appearance and dueattendance of such witness according to the exigency of suchwrit.
