Sheriff to act as receiver, when--his rights, duties and liabilities.

521.340. Until a receiver is appointed, the attachingofficer shall have all the powers and perform all the duties of areceiver under sections 521.010 to 521.650, and may commence andmaintain actions in his own name, as such officer, on debts orevidences of debt attached. He may, in such case, be required togive security other than his official bond; but, if not sorequired, the sureties in his official bond shall be held liable,as in other cases of his official action.
