Proceedings upon constructive service--judgment not to exceed amountsworn to.

521.380. When the defendant shall be notified bypublication, as directed, and shall not appear and answer theaction, judgment by default may be entered, which may beproceeded on to final judgment in like manner as in ordinaryactions; but in no case shall judgment be rendered against thedefendant for a greater amount than that sworn to by theplaintiff at the time of obtaining the attachment, with interest,damages and costs.
