Notice of garnishment and writ of sequestration to contain federaltaxpayer identification number--failure to comply, effect.

525.233. The notice of garnishment and the writ of sequestrationshall contain the federal taxpayer identification number, when available,on the judgment debtor. When the federal taxpayer identification number isomitted from the notice of garnishment or the writ of sequestration thegarnishee shall not be held liable for withholding from the incorrectdebtor by the creditor garnishing the funds. The creditor shall not haveany action against the garnishee, when the federal taxpayer identificationnumber is omitted from the notice of garnishment or the writ ofsequestration or does not match the federal taxpayer identification, forfailure to withhold from any person the amount stated in the notice ofgarnishment or the writ of sequestration, except to serve a notice ofgarnishment or writ of sequestration for the original amount to thegarnishee with the correct federal taxpayer identification number.
