Replevin--who may hear.

533.240. Circuit judges may hear and determine all actionsbrought for the recovery of specific personal property.Associate circuit judges may hear and determine without specialassignment or transfer all actions brought for the recovery ofspecific personal property when the value of the property soughtto be recovered and the damages claimed for the taking ordetention and for injuries thereto shall not exceed, in theaggregate, the monetary amount established by law for those civilcases which an associate circuit judge may hear and determinewithout special assignment or transfer. If specially assigned ortransferred, associate circuit judges may hear and determineother cases for the recovery of specific personal property withthe procedure to be as in cases triable before a circuit judge.
