534.250. Every person who shall have a settlement or fieldon public land, who shall reside on or be in possession of thesame at the time of the forcible entry and detainer, or unlawfuldetainer, shall have the same remedy as is herein provided insuch cases, against any person who shall make such unlawful entryupon him; provided, that any person having authority from theUnited States, or lawfully claiming under them, shall have powerto enter into such land.
