All examinations and recognizances taken inpursuance of the provisions of this chapter shall be certified bythe associate circuit judge taking the same, and delivered to theclerk of the court in which the offense is cognizable, on orbefore the first day of the next term thereof, except that wherethe prisoner is committed to jail, the examination of himself andof the witnesses for or against him, duly certified, shallaccompany the warrant of commitment, and be delivered therewithto the jailer.
