Unauthorized recording prohibited, when.

570.225. No person shall, without the consent of the owner,transfer or cause to be transferred any sounds recorded on aphonograph record, disc, wire, tape, film, videocassette or otherarticle or medium now known or later developed on which soundsare recorded, with the intent to sell or cause to be sold forprofit or used to promote the sale of any article on which soundsare so transferred, except that this section shall only apply tosound recordings initially fixed prior to February 15, 1972.
