Temporary assignment outside correctional facility or mental healthinstitution--official in charge to notify before release--exception.

589.420. In any case where any person who would be required bysections 589.400 to 589.425 to register is temporarily sent outside acorrectional facility or a mental health institution where the person isconfined, on any assignment of whatever nature, the chief law enforcementofficial of the county having jurisdiction over the place where theassignment occurs shall be notified by the official in charge of thecorrectional facility or mental health institution within a reasonable timeprior to removal from the correctional facility or mental healthinstitution. This section shall not apply to any person temporarilyreleased under guard from the correctional facility or mental healthinstitution in which such person is confined.
