630.1005. 1. There is hereby established in the department of mentalhealth a "Comprehensive Child Mental Health Clinical Advisory Council".The council, under the supervision of the director of the department ofmental health, shall advise the office of comprehensive child mental healthestablished under section 630.1000. The council shall be comprised of notmore than ten members and shall include, but not be limited to, individualsrepresenting the following disciplines: pediatric medicine, childpsychiatry, child psychology, social work, clinical counseling, schoolpsychologist, research, financing, and evaluation. The director of thedepartment of mental health, or his or her designee, and a member of theoffice of comprehensive child mental health established under section630.1000 shall serve as ex officio members of the council.
2. The members of the council, other than the ex officio members,shall be appointed by the director of the department of mental health andshall serve for three-year terms. Members shall serve on the councilwithout compensation but may be reimbursed for the actual and necessaryexpenses from moneys appropriated to the department of mental health forthat purpose. Members of the advisory council shall:
(1) Share with the council and department information on state andnational trends, evidenced-based practices and research findings withintheir respective fields;
(2) Serve as a liaison with their respective discipline to obtain anddisseminate information;
(3) Identify funding and research opportunities within theirrespective field; and
(4) Advise the department in ways that knowledge from theirrespective field can be merged within other fields to provide acomprehensive system.
