Discharge of patient, when--procedure.

632.360. At the end of any detention period ordered by the courtunder this chapter, the respondent shall be discharged unless a petitionfor further detention is filed and heard in the same manner as providedherein. Successive one-year detention periods, or successive one hundredeighty-day outpatient detention periods, are permissible on the samegrounds and pursuant to the same procedures as the initial detentionperiod. No order of civil detention under this chapter may exceed oneyear for an inpatient detention period or one hundred eighty days for anoutpatient detention period.
