644.125. 1. If a county or municipality fails to remit arepayment of assistance provided from the wastewater loan fundwithin sixty days of the due date of the repayment, thedepartment of natural resources may notify the director of thedepartment of revenue. Upon receipt of such notice, the directorof the department of revenue shall deduct such repayment amountfrom the next and succeeding regular apportionments of localsales tax distributions to that jurisdiction. Such deductedamounts shall immediately be deposited in the wastewater loanfund.

2. The commission shall require that an agreement beestablished between the department of natural resources and thecounty or municipality detailing the percentage of the repaymentamount to be withheld from each sales tax fund for each county ormunicipality by the department of revenue under this section.The department of natural resources shall abide by such agreementwhen notifying the department of revenue to withhold any fundsunder this section.
