     81-8-901. Beef promotion and marketing -- powers and duties of department. The department shall:
     (1) cooperate and contract with the Montana beef council for collecting an assessment of $1 for each head of Montana livestock as established in the national Beef Promotion and Research Act of 1985, also referred to as the national beef check-off. Any contract agreed to between the department and the beef council must reimburse the department for all expenses incurred through the collection activities.
     (2) adopt rules necessary for the administration of this section.
