71-1601. Public health; counties over 200,000; regulation by single governmental subdivision.The people in any county having a population of more than two hundred thousand inhabitants may consolidate in the hands of one governmental subdivision the regulation of public health and the remedial care and treatment of the indigent sick people, instead of having each of the several governmental subdivisions, that may be existing therein, separately perform such functions; and they may declare that the regulation of public health as well as the remedial care and treatment of the indigent sick people are for the general welfare of all the people of the state.
