84-1227. Records ManagementCash Fund; created; use; investment.There ishereby established in the state treasury a special fund to be known as theRecords Management Cash Fund which, when appropriated by the Legislature,shall be expended by the Secretary of State for the purposes of providingrecords management services and assistance to political subdivisions, fordevelopment and maintenance of a gateway or electronic network for accessingpublic records, and for grants to political subdivisions as provided in subdivision(1)(j) of section 84-1204. All fees and charges for the purpose of recordsmanagement services and analysis received by the Secretary of State from thepolitical subdivisions shall be remitted to the State Treasurer for creditto such fund. Transfers maybe made from the fund to the General Fund at the direction of the Legislature. Anymoney in the Records Management Cash Fund availablefor investment shall be invested by the state investment officer pursuantto the Nebraska Capital Expansion Act and the Nebraska State Funds InvestmentAct.
