171.142 - Breaking open door or window: Upon detention after making arrest.

171.142  Breaking open door or window: Upon detention after making arrest.  Any person who has entered a house, structure or other place of concealment to make an arrest may break open a door or window if that is necessary to liberate himself or herself. An officer may do the same to liberate a person who, acting in the officer’s aid, entered to make an arrest and is detained inside.
