295.290  County or city clerk must allow witness of determination and verification of signatures.  The county or city clerk shall allow the person who submitted the petition or a member of the petitioners’ committee, if any, to witness:

      1.  The determination of the total number of signatures on the petition; and

      2.  The examination of the signatures on the petition for verification.
