Section 125-O:19 Statement of Purpose and Findings. - New Hampshire Statutes

The general court finds that global climate change is a significant environmental problem which could already be contributing to changes in New Hampshire average temperatures, frequency of extreme storm events, number of days with snow cover, timing of spring river flows, and date of spring blooms. Recent studies and scientific evidence indicate that global climate change is caused by a buildup of natural and manmade greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a significant greenhouse gas that contributes to global climate change. Therefore, the purpose of this subdivision is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions resulting from energy use in New Hampshire.
