12:7C-5 - Barge docked on bank of river;  bond by owner;  grounds for forfeiture

12:7C-5.  Barge docked on bank of river;  bond by owner;  grounds for forfeiture    The owner of any barge which is to be docked in or on the bank of any river  within this State for more than 10 consecutive days whether it is to be occupied or not, except as otherwise provided herein, may be required to post a  bond of $25,000.00 with the governing body of the municipality within whose jurisdiction it is located, said bond to be forfeited to be used in the event such barge sinks or otherwise becomes unable to navigate under its own power, and the necessary moneys expended to remove such barge from the river and the river bank;  provided, however, this act shall not apply to barges, ships or boats owned or operated by common carriers engaged in interstate or foreign commerce, nor shall it apply to pleasure craft used on a seasonal basis.
