23:5-30. Placing carp in public or private waters prohibited; penalty No person shall place any kind of carp, or the seed thereof, in any of the public or private waters of this state, under a penalty of not less than two hundred dollars nor more than five hundred dollars, or imprisonment in the jail of the county where the offense has been committed or where the conviction is had for not less than thirty days nor more than six months, at the discretion of the court or magistrate before whom the conviction is had.
