40:60-24 - Existing buildings for public memorials;  acquisition

40:60-24.  Existing buildings for public memorials;  acquisition    The governing body may also provide by ordinance for the purchase of a building already erected within the limits of the municipality, together with the site whereon it is situated, if it deems such building and site suitable, for dedication to public use as a permanent memorial commemorative of the services of soldiers and sailors of the United States in any war in which the United States has participated.

    In the purchase of any such building and site the same procedure so far as may be applicable, shall be followed as in case of the construction of public buildings as provided for by this subtitle.  The cost and expense of acquiring such building and site may be raised by taxation.
