46:19-6.  Verification of authority of foreign commissioners of deeds for New Jersey
    Whenever any instrument of writing, purporting to be acknowledged or proved  before a commissioner of deeds for New Jersey residing in another state, is  presented for record, the county recording officer to whom such instrument is  presented shall ascertain whether or not the name of the person signing his  name as such commissioner appears in the last list of the foreign commissioners  of deeds for New Jersey furnished him by the secretary of state pursuant to  section 52:6-22 of the title State Government, Departments and Officers, and,  if such name does not appear on such list the county recording officer shall  immediately inform the person presenting such instrument for record of such  fact.
