Section 49-10-3 - Election of trustees; qualifications of electors; canvass; notice of election.

49-10-3. [Election of trustees; qualifications of electors; canvass; notice of election.]

At such election all actual residents within the limits of said Tecolote land grant, who are owners of real estate within the same and qualified electors at the general election held in this state shall be qualified electors, and the five persons receiving the highest number of votes at such election, shall be by said board of trustees declared trustees of said grant and shall hold their offices for the term of two years and until their successors are elected and qualified. The vote at said election shall be canvassed by said board of trustees, and said election shall be conducted in all respects as now provided by law for general elections in this state, except that no registration shall be necessary. It shall be the duty of said trustees to call an election for the choice of their successors by giving ten days' notice of the time and place thereof by publication in a newspaper of general circulation in said county.
