926 - Election of district attorneys; term and vacancies.
§ 926. Election of district attorneys; term and vacancies. 1. There shall continue to be elected in each of the counties of New York, Kings, Bronx, Queens and Richmond a district attorney who shall hold office for the term of four years from and including the first day of January succeeding his election. 2. There shall continue to be appointed by the governor a district attorney in each of said counties, when a vacancy shall occur in such office, and the person so appointed shall hold office until the last day of December succeeding the first election thereafter at which such vacancy can be filled by election.
