434 - General powers and duties of treasurer.
§ 434. General powers and duties of treasurer. The superintendent as treasurer shall give an undertaking to the people of the state, with such sureties and in such amount as the commissioner of correction shall require, subject to the approval of the comptroller, to the effect that he will faithfully perform his duties as treasurer of such institution. Such undertaking shall be filed in the office of the attorney-general. The treasurer shall have the custody of all moneys received from the comptroller or otherwise for the use of the institution, except the proceeds of the labor of prisoners. He shall keep a full and accurate account of all receipts and disbursements, and perform such other duties, relative to the finances of the institution, as may be required by the rules and regulations, not inconsistent with law.
