§ 440. Transfer of mentally ill inmates. The provisions of section four hundred eight of this chapter shall apply to an inmate of an institution for the retarded in the department of correction to the same extent as a person who is confined in a correctional facility. A state hospital in the department may receive any such person committed thereto, and such person shall be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of article sixteen of this chapter.
