9-1101 - Proclamation by Governor.

§ 9-1101. Proclamation by Governor. Whenever the forests of the state are in danger of fire, the Governor by proclamation may (a) prohibit any person or persons from entering forests, woodlands, waters and open lands; (b) prohibit the starting of fires in the out-of-doors; (c) prohibit the smoking of tobacco in forests, woodlands and open lands and (d) suspend any open season for, or prohibit the taking of, fish, birds and quadrupeds. Such proclamation may contain exceptions to the activities prohibited, and may apply to all or a portion of the state. Such proclamation shall be in full force and effect at the expiration of 24 hours after notice is given in such manner as the Governor may determine and shall remain in full force until rescinded by the Governor.
