§ 106-405. Prohibited acts; penalties.

§ 106‑405.  Prohibitedacts; penalties.

(a)        Except as providedin G.S. 106‑404, any person who knowingly and willfully violates anyprovision of this Part is guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor.

(b)        It is prohibitedthat any person knowingly and willfully:

(1)        Hide or conceal anyanimals that are subject to a quarantine under this Part.

(2)        Fail to report theoccurrence of an animal disease for which a quarantine under this Part is ineffect.

(c)        Any person who hascommitted an act that is prohibited under subsection (b) of this section shallbe subject to an administrative penalty not to exceed ten thousand dollars($10,000) per violation. Each act in violation of subsection (b) of thissection is a separate violation.  (1939, c. 360, s. 6; 1969, c. 693, s. 3; 1993, c.539, s. 776; 1994, Ex.
