§ 106‑411. Regulation of use of livestock removed from market; swine shipped out of State.

Any person or persons who shall remove, or whose agent or employee atthe direction of the employer, shall remove from a public livestock market anycattle, swine, or other livestock for immediate slaughter shall use them forimmediate slaughter only or resale for immediate slaughter only in compliancewith this Article and the applicable regulations of the Department ofAgriculture and Consumer Services. It shall be a Class 1 misdemeanor for theowner of any cattle, swine or other livestock purchased for immediateslaughter, to order, direct or procure his agent or employee to transport saidcattle, swine, or other livestock to any place other than a recognized slaughterplant or as provided in G.S. 106‑409 and G.S. 106‑410; and theagent or employee who transports said animal or animals shall likewise beguilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.
