§ 10B‑127.  Maintenanceof electronic device.

(a)        An electronicnotary shall take reasonable steps to ensure that any registered device used tocreate the notary's electronic signature is current and has not been revoked orterminated by its issuing or registering authority.

(b)        If the registrationof the device used to create electronic signatures either expires or is changedduring the electronic notary's term of office, the notary shall ceaseperforming electronic notarizations until:

(1)        A new device is dulyissued or registered to the notary; and

(2)        An electronicallysigned notice is sent to the Secretary that shall include the starting andexpiration dates of any new registration term and any other new information atvariance with information in the most recently executed electronic registrationform. (2005‑391,s. 4.)
