§ 113‑270.5.  Trapping licenses.

(a)        Except as otherwise specifically provided by law, no one maytake fur‑bearing animals by trapping, or by any other authorized specialmethod that preserves the pelt from injury, without first having procured acurrent and valid trapping license. When the trapping license is required, itserves in lieu of a hunting license in the taking of fur‑bearing animals.If fur‑bearing animals are taken as game, at the times and by the huntingmethods that may be authorized, hunting license requirements apply.

(b)        The trapping licenses issued by the Wildlife ResourcesCommission are as follows:

(1)        Resident State Trapping License – $25.00. This license isvalid only for use by an individual resident of the State.

(2)        Resident County Trapping License – $10.00. This license isvalid only for use by an individual resident of the State within the county inwhich he resides.

(3)        Nonresident State Trapping License – $100.00. This licenseis valid for use by an individual within the State.
