§ 114‑19.13. Criminal record checks ofapplicants for manufactured home manufacturer, dealer, salesperson, or set‑upcontractor licensure.
The Department of Justice may provide to the North CarolinaManufactured Housing Board from the State and National Repositories of CriminalHistories the criminal history of any applicant for licensure as a manufacturedhome manufacturer, dealer, salesperson, or set‑up contractor underArticle 9A of Chapter 143 of the General Statutes. Along with the request, theBoard shall provide to the Department of Justice the fingerprints of theapplicant, a form signed by the applicant consenting to the criminal recordcheck, and use of fingerprints and other identifying information required bythe State and National Repositories, and any additional information required bythe Department of Justice. The applicant's fingerprints shall be forwarded tothe State Bureau of Investigation for a search of the State's criminal historyrecord file, and the State Bureau of Investigation shall forward a set offingerprints to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for a national criminalhistory record check. The Board shall keep all information obtained pursuant tothis section confidential. The Department of Justice may charge a fee to offsetthe cost incurred by it to conduct a criminal record check under this section.The fee shall not exceed the actual cost of locating, editing, researching, andretrieving the information.
