§ 114‑2.5. Attorney General to report payment of public monies pursuant to settlementagreements and final court orders.

(a)        Not less than 30 days prior to the disbursement of fundsreceived by the State or a State agency pursuant to a settlement agreement orfinal order or judgment of the court where the amount of funds received exceedsseventy‑five thousand dollars ($75,000), the Attorney General shall filea written report with the Joint Legislative Commission on GovernmentalOperations and the Chairs of the Appropriations Subcommittees on Justice andPublic Safety of the Senate and House of Representatives on the paymentsreceived by the State or a State agency. The Attorney General shall also reporton the terms or conditions of payment and of any disbursements set forth in theagreement or order. The Attorney General shall submit a written report to theFiscal Research Division of the General Assembly.

(b)        This section only applies to executed settlement agreementsand final orders or judgments of the court and shall in no way affect theauthority of the Attorney General to negotiate the settlement of cases in whichthe State or a State department, agency, institution, or officer is a party.
