§ 115C‑535. Authority and rules for organization of system.

The State Board of Education is hereby authorized, directed andempowered to establish a division to manage and operate a system of insurancefor public school property. The Board shall adopt such rules and regulationsas, in its discretion, may be necessary to provide all details inherent in theinsurance of public school property. The Board shall employ a director, safetyinspectors, engineers and other personnel with suitable training and experience,which in its opinion is necessary to insure and protect effectively publicschool property, and it shall fix their compensation with the approval of thePersonnel Commission.
